On Thursday, June 30th, 2016, from 2PM-4PM, The DBP visited Children’s Hospital Los Angeles once again. This time we joined the wonderful Art and Music Therapy program, a program which provides a unique opportunity for the kids to express their creativity and emotions during their time at CHLA. Art and music therapy encourages relaxation and stress relief, provides insight on emotions, and encourages communication between loved ones.
Some activities our volunteers helped the kids do are arts and crafts, coloring, and making masks and paper animals. About 10 volunteers accompanied The DBP on this trip to CHLA, and worked with about 100 kids who are staying at CHLA. If you have questions or would like to make a donation to the Art and Music Therapy program at CHLA, please contact us using the form below and one of our staff will get in touch with you as soon as possible.
Some items the staff at CHLA have suggested for donation include:
Multicolored Pipe Cleaners
Wooden Craft Sticks
Multicolored Pom Poms
All of us at The DBP would like to thank CHLA and the kids for allowing us to come visit and for this opportunity to meet these amazing, inspiring children!
