Care Packages for the Homeless

About 70 volunteers arrived early on Sunday October 23rd at Pan Pacific Park to assemble a care package and find a local homeless individual make a connection with and hand to. Volunteers of all ages came together for an hour of assembling, distributing and ultimately making an impact. A total of 125 care packages were made which means 125 thankful smiles (or faces)!

There are roughly 58,000 individuals experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles, so being able to even help a small percentage of those individuals is a great feeling! DBP intern/volunteer Muneerah Uqdah says, “Volunteering with them let’s you first hand see the difference that you make in the community, so your time, energy and effort is never not noticed.” For more information, check out our blog post on the event and be sure to CONTACT US if you want to volunteer or donate!

On Saturday, June 27, 2015, Dreambuilders congregated at Pan Pacific Park, Los Angeles, CA, for our “Feed the Homeless” Flash Mob. After one short hour, 70 Dreambuilders packed 150 care packages, and delivered them to homeless individuals across the city. The care packages contained numerous food, clothing and sanitary donations. To create an even more engaging experience for our Dreambuilders, a sandwich-making station was set up where each participant got to whip up a tasty peanut butter and jelly sandwich to add to their care packages, as well as any extra they wished to make and hand out.

Care packages were delivered to areas such as Hollywood, Skid Row, Venice beach front, Santa Monica/Vermont Metro Station, and North Hollywood, as well as many other places where a number of homeless people reside.

On Sunday 26th April, 2015, The DBP hosted its second Charity Flash Mob – Care Packages for the homeless at Pan Pacific Park, Los Angeles, CA.

An incredibly successful morning, 70 Dream Builder volunteers came and packed over 150 care packages for the homeless members of the community. Each package was filled with food, first aid necessities, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and various clothing items, in order to provide a small amount of relief to a number of individuals.

We thank everyone who devoted their morning to this cause, we hope you had as much fun as we did!

The DBP are looking to make its signature Flash Mob a monthly event, however we need your help! If you are an individual looking to do something good in your community, become a Dreambuilder today by getting in touch with us or simply following us on Facebook or Instagram. Or if you are a local business willing to donate product for our next event, please contact us! We very much look forward to hearing from you!

Here’s a small snap shot of the fun and excitement of a DBP Charity Flash Mob!

The DBP’s first “Feed the Homeless” Flash Mob on December 15, 2013 was incredibly exciting and astonishing at the same time. Seeing how many people were living in that type of situation was heart wrenching but being able to make a even a small difference in such a short period of time, was a great achievement by The DBP team and volunteers.

Due to the generosity of companies that donated goods to the cause, The DBP team gave out hundreds of kits to the homeless living on the streets of Los Angeles. Kits included first aid necessities, clothing and food items.

Everyone deserves a roof over their head and we need your help to continue our efforts. If you would like to get involved in The DBP Flash Mobs or are a company willing to donate, please contact us.

In the meantime, enjoy this brief recap of last year’s Feed the Homeless Flash Mob. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
