The DBP staff and volunteers gathered for yet another Care Packages For The Homeless!

About 70 volunteers arrived early on Sunday October 23rd at Pan Pacific Park to assemble a care package and find a local homeless individual make a connection with and hand to. Volunteers of all ages came together for an hour of assembling, distributing and ultimately making an impact. A total of 125 care packages were made which means 125 thankful smiles (or faces)!

There are roughly 58,000 individuals experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles, so being able to even help a small percentage of those individuals is a great feeling! DBP intern/volunteer Muneerah Uqdah says, “Volunteering with them let’s you first hand see the difference that you make in the community, so your time, energy and effort is never not noticed.” And our efforts were noticed!

Blogger @AskAConcierge said she loves our cause because her grandmother rooted in her, at a young age, to always give back and support charity work. “The DBP always orchestrates the best events to support. Todays we got to make care packages for the homeless as a group and each of us got to take 1 or 2 bags full of great goodies/supplies to hand out to a homeless person in need.” We loved having her and all of our volunteers as helping hands in the community!

The DBP offers a super easy way to give back. We had everything the volunteers needed to put together a care package. All the volunteers had to do was show up with a smile! The DBP had a variety of supplies lined out in assembly form for volunteers to grab and put together in their care packages. Supplies included water bottles, nonperishable food items, dental care, socks and clothing, shampoo, conditioner, chapstick and more snacks and food! Not to mention a huge thank you to all of our sponsors for their help! Bombas was so generous to donate socks, Kynd Clothing sent us t-shirts, UV Skinz supplied hundreds of amazing shirts, On The Go Towels provided clean, sanitizing cloths, LA Fresh Group donated deodorant wipes, Woo Bamboo supported us by sending a generous amount of toothbrushes, and lastly Kali Hoops for joining us to assemble and distribute care packages! Our event wouldn’t have been as successful without their help!
